Pirate Radio Internet: Hacker Group To Launch Their Own Satellite Internet
And you college students thought SOPA was started because you torrent a few shitty songs...In case you kids didn't realize, hacking has been around since there's been things to hack into, and what you do isn't hacking. There is though a great deal of legit hackers out there (where do you think torrents come from?). Each year, right after Christmas, the Chaos Computer Club (imagine people similar to Gru) hold their annual Chaos Community Congress in Germany. Here they talk about things they hacked, their New Year's resolutions of what they plan to hack, or how hacking has affected their lives. Things like that. The CCC is strictly a hacker activist group, and for the most part they aren't dangerous; although probably include participants responsible for things like the recent Sony hacks. They are becoming a force against
censorship though. At the most recent congress in Berlin, Mr. Nick Farr spoke about his recent initiative to send up communication satellites in an effort to build an un-censorable internet out in space. Apparently his group has been collecting funds from interested parties since August and plan to build base stations in regions of heavy investment. As much as I detest SOPA, this scheme reeks of SPECTRE involvement.
