Clear The Streets: Google Patents Autonomous Vehicles

How convenient would it be after a night of getting turned down at the club, to hop into your luxury sedan minivan, flip on the automatic pilot, and cruise on over to you ex's place to smother her in vomit scented forgiveness. "I LOVE YOU...oh uh you don't feel the same...it's ok...I should have never came. The car made me do it" Sounds awesome doesn't it? That's what Google thinks. In fact they just confirmed a patent for vehicles that can alternate from manual to automatic (were not talking transmission anymore) for which they have been testing over the past few years. I'm a bit fearful of this idea. Plus we'll have to not only buy insurance covering against other drivers, but also insurance covering against no-driver. On second thought, considering the way these texting hipsters drive, I'd feel more comfortable if all cars were autonomous.
